WHEREAS, under date of -Larch 21,.1950, the City of Beaumont and the State of
Texas entered into an agreement, and under date of August 17; 1954, a applement
thereto,-outliAing their respective responsibilities for the improvement and
maintenance of the section of U.S. Highway 90 from Eleventh Street to the Neches
River Bridge; and
IIHEREAS,, it is the mutual desire of the -City and. the State. to further modify
and dapplement this agreement for the purpose of fixing -the details of their joint
responsibilities and to govern operational procedure and the methods of financial
participation.in the construction, maintenance and operation of a street illumination
system on the section of U..S., Righway 90 from Eleventh Street to the Neches River
Bridge.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.-
SECTION
OUNCIL:SECTION 1. That since the public convenience and safety of the City and the
people of the City require it, said street illumination system•shall be constructed,
operated and maintained.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute for and on
behalf of the City a supplemental agreement and contract with the State -of Texas in'
accordance with and for the purpose of carrying out the terms and provisions of this
ordinance, in the form attached hereto and marked 11E�diibit All.
SECTION 3. The City Secretary is hereby directed to attest the supplemental,
agreement and contract and affix the proper seal of the City thereto.
