JIIERE'AS, a petition signed by all the property
owners of the lots in -lock 12 of the Jirou Adc_it ion to
the City of Beaumont has been presented to the City Com-
mission of the City of -�Deau.:2ont regv_estin(c; that the alley
runnin,, through -lock 1 of said Addition be vacated and
closed; and,
STI ,R sAS, sa..d. ne tit i on has been referred to the
City Engineer for exarni.nation and approval and the sane
has been approved by him; and,
W_1TER_6'AS, said petition has been duly canvassed
and exa,,reined by the City Corn_._ission and has been found to
have been signed_ by all the property owners in said block,
and it appeariiVg to the City Comm -fission that the request of
said property owners should be -7anted and. that an ordin-
ance should be enacted vacatir_g and clos _ng said alley, re-
serving, however, to the City of Beauront the right to con-
struct and maintain all necessary public utilities in said
alley or to grant a franchise for the construction and
maintenance of such utilities in said alley:

That the alley running through Rlock Tvielve (12)
of the Jirou Addition to the City of Beaumont, Texas, be and
the same is hereby authorized to be vacated and closed and
that the title to such alley shall revert to and become the
property .of the owners of land. in said block bord_erinn;
on said alley as provided by law, provided, however, that
the closing of said alley sEiall in no way affect the
right of th.e_ pity of Eeaumont to place and maintain there-
in sewer, aas, or water lines, telephone, tele,7raph or
electric lines, wires, poles and cables or any other oub-
lic utility service. Neither shall the closing of said
alley affect tine right of' the City of 'Beaumont to grant
a franchise to any person, fir-r� or corporation authoriz-
ing the placing and maintaining in said_ alley of such
sewer, gas or slater lines, telephone, telegraph or elec-
tric lines or other pu_ )lic utility service, a_7.1 of which
rights are hereby expressl7T reserved.

WE, the undersigned, being the sole owners of all the
property located. in Block 12 , of the J1ROU
Addition to the City of Beaumont, hereby respectfully petition

Addition be closed in the manner as permitted by the statutes
of the State of Texas, and that such alley become the absolute
property of the owners of the land in said block adjacent and
abutting on such alley, it being understood., however, that the
closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights of the
City as to placing and maintaining therein of any sewer or
water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires,
poles, or cables or any other service or utility of the City,
or the right of the City to grant franchises to persons or
corporations to place and maintain therein any such sewer or
