AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES
13-1, 13-2, 13-3, 13-4, 13-5 and 13-6 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUM ONT, ABOLISHING THE
SEPARATE OFFICE OF DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND DE-
CLARING AN MAERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COWUMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
Articles 13-1, 13-2, 13-32 13-4, 13-5 and 13-6 of the
Code of the City of Beaumont creating the office of Dir-
ector of Finance of the City of Beaumont separate from that
of City Manager, providing for his appointment and prescrib-
ing his duties, are hereby in all things repealed and said
separate office is hereby abolished.
Section 2.
The fact that there is now a Director of Finance for
the City of Beaumont other than the City Manager as pro-
vided for in the Charter thereof and that the City'Commis-
sion is desirous that the duties of the Director of Fin-
ance shall be performed by the City Manager creates an
imperative public emergency necessitating the suspension
of the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three sev-
eral days before their final passage; wherefore, said rule
is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall become effec-
tive from and after its passage and publication.
PASSED by the affirmative vote of all members of the
City Commission this 29th day of June, A. D. 1943.
