ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO LEASE THAT CERTAIN BUILDING LOCATED AT THE FOOT
OF CYPRESS STREET, AS SHOWN BY THE MAP ATTACHED
HERETO, TO RANDOLPH C. REED FOR A PERIOD OF TWO
(2) YEARS, WITH AN OPTION TO CANCEL SAID LEASE
AFTER SIXTY (60) DAYS WRITTEN NOTICE TO LESSEE.
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont is the owner of a
certain building located at the foot of Cypress Street in
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as shown by the map at-
tached hereto and made a part hereof; and,
WHEREAS, Randolph C. Reed is desirous of leasing
said building for the purpose of -mooring pleasure craft and
pleasure boats only, and in no event is said property to be
used for commercial purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the said Randolph C. Reed is desirous of
obtaining a lease on the -above described premises for a term
of two (2) years"effective-from December 1, 1940, at a rent-
al of Sixty (60.00) Dollars for the -first year end Ninety
(690.00) Dollars for the second year, rent payable semi-
annually in advance; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission has considered the -
proposition and is of the opinion that it would be beneficial
to the City to lease said building to the said Randolph C.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C01MIISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized to
execute a two-year lease in behalf of the City of Beaumont
covering the building located at the foot of Cypress Street,
as shown by the map attached hereto, for and in consideration
of Sixty (60.00) Dollars rental for the first year and Ninety
(90.00) Dollars rental f or the second year, said rent to be
paid semi-annually in advance, said lease to become effective
from and after December 1, 1940, and to contain an option to
cancel said lease by giving sixty (60) days written notice to
the lessee, said conveyance not to include the title to the
land upon which said building is located.
PASSED by an affirmative vote of the membersof the
City Commission of the City of Beaumont this the �`,(day of
