ANCE AUTHORIGING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A
LEASE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT LEASING1TO S. PERRY BROWN AND
KEITH HOTCHKISS, AS LESSEES, HARBOR ISS*
LAND SITUATED IN THE NECHES RIVER TURN-
ING -BASIN AS A SITE FOR A SHIPYARD, A
COPY OF SAID LEASE CONTRACT BEING HERETO
ATTACHED.
WHEREAS, S. Perry Brown and Keith Hotchkiss, citizens
of Beaumont, desire to lease Harbor Island from the City of
Beaumont to be used as a site for a shipygrd and as the said
Island is not now producing any revenue for the City and in
view of the fact that the construction of a shipyard on said
Island would be very advantageous to the City of Beaumont and
would constitute a source of employment for many of its citizens;
and,
WHEREAS, the proposed Lease Contract has been drafted
by the Lessees and a copy of same is hereto attached and the terms
and provisions of the said Lease Contract appear to be advantageous.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Beau-
mont the said Lease Contract leasing to the said S. Perry Brown
and Keith Hotchkiss the property hereinbefore described in accord-
ance with the terms and provisions of the Lease Contract, a copy
of which is hereto attached.
