ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND TIE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A LEASE CONTRACT
LEASING MUNICIPAL WHARF UNITS NOS. 5, 5a, and 6,
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TOGETHER WITH ALL IM-
PROVEMENTS INCLUDING THE RAILROAD TRACKS AT THE
REAR OF THE WAREHOUSE AND ALSO THE NECHES RIVER
FRONTAGE LYING -BETWEEN THE EAST ENDS OF WHARF
UNITS NOS. 4 AND 5, TOGETHER WITH THE RIGHT OF
INGRESS AND EGRESS, SAID LEASE BEING IN FAVOR
OF S. PERRY BROWN AND KEITH HOTCHKISS AS LESSEES,
A COPY OF SAID LEASE CONTRACT BEING HERETO ATTACHED.
WHEREAS, S. Perry Brown and Keith Hotchkiss, citizens
of Beaumont, desire to lease Units Nos. 5, 5a, and 6 of the
Municipal Wharf located in the -City of Beaumont, together with
all improvements thereon and including the railroad tracks on
the wharf apron as well as the depressed tracks at the rear of
the wharf warehouse, and also the Neches River frontage lying
between the East ends of Wharf Units Nos. 4 and 5, together with
the right of ingress and egress thereto; and,
WHEREAS, the said property is to be used in connection
with the establishment and operation of a shipyard on Harbor Island;
and,
WHEREAS, the construction and operation of such shipyard
will be very beneficial to the City of Beaumont and its citizens;

WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that the
rental paid for the lease of the above described property is ade-
quate and sufficient and that it is to the best interest of the
City of Beaumont that the property be leased and rented in accord-
ance with the terms and provisions of the Lease Contract submitted
by the Lessees, a copy of which is hereto attached and made a part
hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMIS SI ON
OF .THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Coity of
Beaumont the said lease, leasing to the said S. Perry Brown
and Keith Hotchkiss the property hereinbefore described in
accordance with the terms and provisions of the Lease Contract,
a copy of which is hereto attached. � 4
