AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE
ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK TWENTY-THREE (23) OF
THE BLANCHETTE SECOND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
Whereas, a petition duly signed by Joe Fisher
and Mrs. Louise M. Fisher, owners of Lot One (1);
J. I. Carter, owner of Lot Tiro (2) ; B.M. Akselsen,
owner of Lot Three (3); F.S. Looney, owner of Lot
Four (4) and One-half (2) of Lot Five (5) ; J. E.
McDaniel and Mrs. Margarette McDaniel Widner, own-
ers of One-half (2) of Lot Five (5) and Lot Six
(6);'Mrs-. H. B. Ellis, owner of Lot Seven (7); Mrs.
H. L. Bickman, owner of Lot Eight (8); Mrs. D. P.
Harris, owner of Lot Nine (9); T. F. Neeson, owner
of Lot Ten (10) ; Mrs. A. P. Bjorkman; owner of
Lot Eleven (11); Mrs. Fred W. Willcox, owner of
Lot Twelve (12) , owners of all the property locat-
ed in Block Twenty-three (23) in the Blanchette
Second Addition to the City of Beaumont, has been
presented to the City Commission of the City of
Beaumont, requesting that the said alley be vacated
and closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the alley located in Block Twenty-three (23) of
the Blanchette Second Addition to the City of Beaumont, Texas,
be and the same is hereby authorized to be vacated and closed,
and that the title to such alley shall revert to and become the
property of the owners of the land in said block bordering on
said alley, as provided by law; provided, however, that the
closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights of the
City as to placing and maintaining therein any sewer or water
lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles
or cables, or any other service or utility of the City, or the
right to grant franchises to persons or corporations to place
and maintain therein any such sewer or water lines, or telephone,
telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles or cables, or any
other service or utility of the City, all of which rights are
hereby reserved.

COUNTY OF JEFFERSON ;
WE, the undersigned, being the sole owners of all the
property located. in Block 23 , of the Blanchette 2nd
Addition to the City of Beaumont, hereby respectfully petition
that_ the alley located in Block .2.5 , Blanchette 2nd
Addition be closed in the manner as permitted .by the statutes
of the State of Texas, and that such alley become the absolute
property of the owners of the land in said block adjacent and
abutting on such alley, it being understood, however, that the
closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights of the
City as to placing and maintaining therein of any sewer or
water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires,
poles, or cables or any other service or utility of the City,
or the right of the City to grant franchises to. persons or
corporations to place and maintain therein any such sewer or
water line, or telephone, telegraph, or electric- lines, wires,
poles, or cables, or any other service or utility of the City.
