ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK T0, ENTER- INTO
A.LEASE CONTRACT.IN BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF, BEAUMONT, FOR,A TERM OF FIVE. (5) YEARS
WITH 0. M. POSTON OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY,. TEXAS,. GRANTING TO THE SAID O.M.
POSTON THE RIGHT TO OCCUPY THE STABLE FAC-
ILITIES AND OPERATE A RIDING ACADEMY ON
CERTAIN PREMISES LOCATED.IN THE_TYRRELL
PARK NEAR THE CITY OF BEAUMONT. .
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont is the owner of a
certain tract of land in a southwesterly direction from
said city known as "Tyrrell Park" and dedicated to the
public as such; and
WHEREAS, a certain area in said Tyrrell Park,
shown on the attached map or plat outlined in red, has
been set apart for the purpose of establishing a riding
academy whereupon certain buildings and stables are locat-
ed; and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of leasing said
tract so outlined in red, together with the facilities
located thereon to some suitable person in order that he
may operate and maintain said riding academy; and
WHEREAS, the said 0. M. Poston has submitted a
bid to the City whereby he has agreed to lease said prem-
ises for
a period ,of five (5) years
for the
sum of
Six
($6.00)
Dollars monthly for living
quarters
in the
main
stable structure and Two ($2.00) Dollars monthly in addit-
ion thereto for each horse 4 aable for the first Three (3)
years and Two and 75/100 ($2.75) Dollars per stall for the
Two remaining years; and
WHEREAS, said bid has been received and consid-
ered by the City Commission and by it considered to be the
highest -and -best bid for said premises and the said City
Commission is of the opinion that said premises should
be so leased to the said O.M. Poston;
1VOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE CITY COMMISSIOiV OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they hereby
are authorized and directed to enter into a five (5) year
lease contract in behalf of the City of Beaumont with the
said 0. M. Poston by the terms of which said premises out-
lined in red on the attached map or plat is leased to the
said O.M. Poston for a term of five (5) years in consider-
ation of the payment to the City of the sums of money set
forth in the preamble hereto.
Passed by an affirmative vote of the City Commission
