Entitled an ordinance changing• the name' of. what is now
known as Carlos street, 'said street :being ' located in the" south end of
the city of Beaumont and beginning at 'Stanton street and running north
to McGovenn alley fora a distance: of about',' .1500 feet and being about
40 feet in width, to -Sa14 Anthony street, and
Changing the name, of Cedar., street, beginning at its
junction with Booadway avenue and extending in an eastwardly direction
to. Main street, being about 1-1,/2 'blocks in- length, to Bros,dway Avenue,

SECTION I.
That the name of. Carlos. street, a" street- located in the
sotith'end.of the -city of Beaumont, beginning at„Stanton street and
running north 'to McGovern alley. for- a: distance of 150.0 feet, _ and,'being
about 40 feet.'in width,. bechange d. -so. that it: shall hereafter -be known
as Saint Anthony street and
. Thiat the .name , of that portion of Cedar street, extending
froii .a, point where said Cedar street joins theeastern terminus of
Broadway avenue and e$tending in an e,aetwardly direction to.'Zain' street,
to a 'distance of about 1 -1/2 -blocks, .be changed, so that it shall :here --
after be known as Broadway. t,.venne .:
SECTION' I I .
A majority of the. property', owners. r&siding along what
is now known as Carlos street_ havin g, requested that the name of said
street:be,changed to St;.Anthony-street and whereas great confusion
exists 'as to the correct and- pr opp-r name of that” portion of Cedar
street extending from its junetioii'with Broadway .venue to MIain street,
and whereas the r6vised. may of the city of Beaumont is now about com-
pleted: and is ready to be lithographed ',''creates an imperative necessity
for the passage of this ordinance so that .the rule requiring ordinances
to be read. at three separate meetings be and the, same. is. hereby suspended
and this ordinance shall go into fo,rcQ.: and effect. from and after its
