ORDINANCE ?':IS�0DIEG SECTION III OF'AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE creating the office of server and plumbing inspector of the City of Beaumont, describing the duties thereof, providing for its maintenance, passed by the City Council of the City of Beaumont on the 5th say of July A.D.1919. BE AUMOTv T : BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 05% SECTION I. THAT SECTION III of an ordinance entitled an ordinance creating the office of sever and plumbing inspector of the City of Beaumont, describing the duties thereof, Iroviding for its mainten- ance be emended so that it shall hereafter read as follows, to -wit: SECTION III. It shall be the duty of the Sewer and Plumbing Inspector to pass on all plans submitted for any plumbing and drainage work, to keep a daily record of his r;ork, including all notices and applica- tions received, and violation of any of the rules, regulations or ordinances of the City relative to plumbing and drainage. He shall inspect all houses in course of erection, alteration or repair, as often as may be necessary and shall see that all work for plumbing drainage and ventilation is done in accordance with.the ordinances, rules and regulations for same. The Sewer and Plumbing Inspector will inspect all sewer connections and external house drains within 5 hours after notification from the master plumber, Sundays and holidays ex- cepted, and all waste and vent pipes and other inside plumbing within. 24 hours after notification, Sundays and holidays excepted. Should -the Sewer and Plumbing Inspector fail to comply with the above requirements, the plumber doing the work shall file with the plumbing inspector of the City of 3eaumont,"describing the duties thereof, providing for its maintenance, passed by the City Council of the City of ?Beaumont on the 5th say of July A.D.1�'1t. It shall be the duty of every plumber to deposit with the Sewer and Plumbing Inspector the amount to cover the cost of Inspection and unless this be done the Sewer and Plumbing Inspector shall refuse to inspect the work. Inspection fees shall be 2 per cent of the contract price of the job up to � 500.00 and i per cent additional for all otrer $ 500.00, with a minimum fee of 1.00; provided, that whenever the Inspector is called upon to make an inspection by the master plumber doing said workkand the Inspector finds the work is in such condition that an inspection cannot be made and another trip shall be necessary, the inspector shall first require and collect of the master plumber, a. fee of $ 2.00 hefore he shall be required to make said inspection The said. fee to be paid into the City Treasury of the City, as other fees collected by him.. SECTION II The fact that the present ordinance creating the office of sewer and plumbing inspector and providing his duties, is inadequate creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity and the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three several days be and the same is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall go into force and effect from and after As passage and lawful publication.
