BE IT ORDAITIED BY TtE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BE'AMONT. Section One That that portion of "an ordinance fixing the salaries of the officers of the City of Beaumont,Texas for the term beginning April 1914, and ending April 1916, relative to the salary of the Fire Chief,4 be amended so that it shall hereafter read as follows, to -wit: - I/ FIRE CHIEF:- The chief of the Fire Department shall receive a salary- of Eighteen Hundred, (1800.00) Dollars per annum and no other perquisites. Section Two That all ordinances and parts _ of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section Three Owing to the fact that the present ordinance does not provide a salary coil-mensurate with duties and work of the Fire Chief, an emergency and public necessity is created, d.amd,nding that the rule reciuiring ordinances to be read on three several days be and the same is hereby suspended; and this ord:tnance shall go into force and effect frorl and after its passage and lawful publication.
