ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, ADOPTED ON JUNE
262 19685 SO AS TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR
THE EXTENSION OF WATER LINES.; AMENDING THE
ANNUAL,APPROPRIATION.ORDINANCE NO. 68-30
TO REFLECT SUCH APPROPRIATION.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of The City of Beaumont
has recommended to the City Council that certain water lines
be extended in certain areas in the vicinity of Tyrrell Park
in Beaumont for the reason that drinking water in such areas
is not satisfactory for drinking purposes according to the
Health Department of The City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the need for
this water line extension is an unforeseen condition and

creates a case of grave public necessity and that the rec-
ommendation of the City Manager should be approved;..and,
WHEREAS, the Budget of The City of Beaumont, adopted
on June 26, 1968, estimated the beginning fund balance of the
General Fund to be $1,750,000.00 and on July 1, 1968, the
actual beginning fund balance was $1,919,345.62, resulting
in the actual fund.balance exceeding the estimated as set
forth in such Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That the Budget of The City of Beaumont adopted on
June 26, 1968, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1968, and
ending June 30, 1969, be and the same is hereby amended by
establishing General Fund Account No. 902 and by appropriating
to same the sum of $60,000.00 for the purpose of extending
water lines.and facilities and decreasing the fund balance of
a
Tliat Section 2 of the Appropriation Ordinance No.
68-30, adopted June 26, 1968, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as'follows:
1969.
"That there is hereby appropriated out of
the General Fund the sum of $8,528,545.00,
for the following purposes:
Operations .................... $ 8,328,545.00
Contingency ................... $ 200,000.00
$ 8,528,545.00
