BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TERAS.. Sec. 1. 'That the salaries and fees of office to be paid to the respective officials of the City of Beaumont for"the term commencing ,April 1908 and ending irt-1 1910, shall be, and the same are, hereby fixed at the following amounts:---- Mayor.- The mounts:--..--Mayor. The Mayor shall receive a salary of 41500.00 per annum, and shall, receive no,fees or prerequisites of any kind in addition thereto.' City 'Marshall. The City Marshall shall receive a salary of Fifteen Hun- dred Dollars ($1500.00) per annum, and no additional fees or prerequi- sites-' of any kind, -and all fees heretofore assessed' and collected im, fav,or--of the City Tfarshall shall be assessed and collected for, and on behalf of the City, and shall be paid into the General Fund of the City. City Treasurer. The City mreasurer shall receive a salary of Five Dollars ($5.00) per annum, and no other fees or commissions. City Secretary. ,The City Secretary shall receive a salary of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) per annum, and all fees or prerequisites hereto- fore taxed and collected in favor of said C.Lty Secretary, shall-here- - hallhere- after be taxed and colle cte d, f or and bn behalf of the City of Beaumont and paid into the general Fund of said City. City Attorney - The City Attorney shall receive in every case where the plea of guilty is entered for the violation o� any of the City ordin- ances, or State Law cases, where the City has jurisdiction over same,,, a fee of $2.50, and wherever conviction is had on -the plea of not guilty, he shall receive a fee of $5.00; provided, however, that the said City �� Attorney shall receive no money 'or '-fees in either event, unless thea ORS Ff - 4 - ozo i d.efendiant shall 'pay his fine and .cost in money; provided further, that for all other work as specified in this Charter, .other than that of I prosecuting for violation of cases over which the Recorderts.Court has jurisdiction, the slid City Attorney shall receive such other com- pensation as the .City Council.• may allow for his services. The Tax Assessor and Collector shall receive a salary- of Twer_ty Four Hundred Dollars -(2400.00) per annum; and all fees oirl prerequi-sites heretofore accruing to said officer, shall hereafter be paid into the General Fund of. the City,, and said salary shall cover the whole amount to be paid to such officer for his services. Fire Chief. The Chief of the Fire Department shall receive• a salary , of Nine Hundred Dollars (0900.00) per annum, and for attending to the Fire Alarm System Ttree Hundred Dollars (300.00) per annum, and no other prerequisites. _ _- City Scavenger. The City Scavenger shall receive for services rendered. to private families the sum of Forty Cents (6.40) for each service, not to fexceed two services per, month: in summer, and not to exceed two per month in winter; for his services 'to hotels .and, boarding houses, he shall C receive the sum of One Dollar'($1.'00) for each service, not,to exceed. three services per month. By boarding houses, as herein used, shall be held to mean any house receiving boarders in excess of three in number; and shall not be construed to mean a private family keeping not less t than three boarders in addition to the family. . T - City Health Officer. f The City Health officer shall receive a salary of Nine. Each Alderman ona.11 receive Eire Dollars ($5.00) for each regular meeting and 'Dollars (.00) for each called meeting. Where it is provided herein for a salary for any official of this City tine said salary shall 'he paid in raontAly installments at the expiration of each month, in the manner and for -an I)rovlded by the City Ordinances.
