ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY
AMENDING SECTION 12-9.1 PRESCRIBING THE MAX-
IMUM EARNINGS TO BE CONSIDERED IN CALCULATING
DEPOSITS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO BE MADE BY
REASON OF CURRENT SERVICE OF EMPLOYEES OF THIS
CITY WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL
RETIREMENT SYSTEM; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That Section 12-9.1 of the Code or Ordinances of Beau-
mont, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 12-9.1. Same - Limitation Upon Calculation
of Contribution from Employees
Earnings.
"That the total earnings, which may be paid by the
City of Beaumont to any of its employees who are
members of the Texas Municipal Retirement System,
shall be considered in calculating the amount to
be withheld and the deposits and contributions
to be made to the Texas Municipal Retirement
System by reason --of Current Service rendered by
such employee to this City."

That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a par-
ticular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the
various portions and provisions of this ordinance -ate -declared
to be severable.
