'7 - ++ ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 12-55 ENTITLED "LONGEVITY OR SERVICE PAY"; PROVIDING LONGEVITY OR SERVICE PAY IN ADDITION TO ALL OTHER MONEYS PAID FOR SERVICES RENDERED; PROVIDING FOR THE COMPUTATION OF LONGEVITY OR SERVICE PAY IN- VOLVING INTERRUPTED SERVICE BEFORE AND AFTER JULY 1, 1970; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: I. That Chapter 12 of the Code of Ordinances of The City K of Beaumont be and the same is hereby amended by adding there- to Section 12-55, which shall read as follows: 1970. "Section 12-55. Longevity or Service Pay. Commencing July 1, 1970, each employee shall receive three dollars ($3.00) per month for each year's service with the City, commencing with the date of his employment, up to and including twenty-five (25) years of service with the City. This longevity or service pay shall be paid in addition to all other moneys paid for services rendered to the City. As to all persons in the employ of the City as of July 1, 1970, all employment with the City prior to July 1, 1970, even though interrupted, shall be counted in computing longevity or service pay; providing, however, that any per-, son employed or re-employed after July 1, 1970, shall be paid only for continuous service, and interrupted service shall not be counted in computing longevity or service pay."
