ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING A SECTION,
TO BE NUMBERED SECTION 8-7, PROHIBITING BUILDINGS AND
STRUCTURES WITHIN THIRTY (30) FEET OF -THE SOUTH RIGHT-
OF-WAY LINE OF WALDEN ROAD, FOR A DISTANCE OF SEVEN
HUNDRED (700) FEET EAST FROM THE INTERSECTION OF THE
SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF WALDEN ROAD AND THE EAST
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF PASADENA AVENUE; AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY.
-BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,, TEXAS:

That Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas, is hereby amended by adding a section,,to be numbered
Section 8-7, which said section shall read as follows:
"Sec. 8-7. Setback line on Walden Road.
"(1) No building or structure shall be constructed, re-
constructed, or erected within thirty (30) feet of the
south right-of-way line of the Walden Road sixty (60)
feet right-of-way for a distance of seven hundred (700)
feet east fromthe intersection of the south right-of-way
line of Walden Road and the east right-of-way line of
Pasadena Avenue, said setback area also being the north
thirty (30) feet of Lot 9, Block 2 of the C. E. Smith's
Beaumont Citrus Fruit Gardens Addition, out of the S.
Stivers League in the City of Beaumont, Texas."
"(2) It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to
construct, reconstruct or erect any building or structure
in violation of this section; and no building permit will
be issued for'such building or structure."
Section 2.
Any person who violates the provisions of this ordinance
shall upon conviction be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the
Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
