AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE KIND OF RATES OF FARE TO
BE CHARGED BY BEAUMONT CITY LINES, INC. ON ALL OF
ITS SCHEDULES OPERATING WITHIN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS; SUSPENDING THE TWO PERCENT (2%) GROSS RE-
CEIPTS TAX.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That from and after December 1, 1970, Beaumont City Lines, Inc.
shall be permitted to .charge the following rates of fare on all
schedules operated by said Beaumont City Lines, Inc., within
the City of Beaumont, Texas:

Regular Cash Fare Thirty Cents (30�)
School Children
Attending public or parochial schools
of grades not higher than public high
schools; between the hours of 6:00 a.m.
and 4:30 p.m. on regular school days

Half Fare:
Children between the ages of five
(5) and twelve (12) years Ten cents (10�,)
Children under the age of five
(5) years when accompanied by a
fare -paying passenger No Charge
Transfers: Five cents (05(�)
The Gross receipts tax provided for in Section 9 of the Fran-
chise ordinance enacted June 11, 1937, as amended, is hereby sus-
pended effective January 1, 1970; the above rates of fare shall
become effective December 1, 1970. The word "suspended", as used
herein, shall mean only that the Gross Receipts tax shall not be
levied and collected against Beaumont City Lines, Inc., until
such time as the City shall, by ordinance, reassess the same,
but shall not be construed as revoking the power of the City to
assess a franchise tax from the said franchise ordinance.

1970, same being after due hearing before the City Council on
the 18th day of August, 1970.
