IN THIRTY (30) DAYS OR TO BE DEMOLISHED .BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT; MAKING FAILURE TO COMPLY A MISDEMEANOR; AND
PROVIDING FOR A LIEN FOR ANY EXPENSES INCURRED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT IN HAVING SAID BUILDING DEMOLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:

The City Council of The City of Beaumont, Texas, hereby
finds and -declares the -buildings located at -2257_ Pecan _Street, the
same being the south twenty-five (25') feet by fifty (50') feet of
Lot 73, Block 7 of the Herring Addition in the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 1833 Liberty Street, the same being Lot 11,
Block 2, McFaddin Addition in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas; 2922 Concord, the same being Tract 12, Plat D-5, A. Williams
Survey in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; 1375 Ewing
Street, the same being in the east central thirty-two (32') feet of
Lots 1 and 2, Block 7, Chaison Addition in the City of Beaumont, Jeff-
erson County, Texas; Five (5) structures in the 5500 Block of Hagner
Road, Tract 113 B-1 and Tract 113 B-2, Plat B-20, J.A. Veatch Survey
in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; 820 K.C.S., Lots

son County, Texas; 417 Pollard, Lots 26 and 27, Block A, Pine Hill
Addition in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, each to
be a public nuisancec:in that said buildings are, for want of:_repairs
or by reason of age or dilapidated condition, liable to cause or pro-
mote fires that would endanger persons or property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of
The City of Beaumont, and Section 13-20 of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Southern Standard Building
Code, the same having been incorporated by reference into the ordin-
ances of the City of Beaumont by Section 8-1 of said ordinances,

it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the buildings lo-
cated upon the above described property in The City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, demolish and tear down within thirty (30)
days of the date of the passage of this ordinance, said structures
so located on the above described property; and, if such.action is
not taken, the owners of said buildings shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and said buildings shall be demolished and removed at
the expense of the City of Beaumont on the account of the owner
thereof;.and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against
the property upon which said buildings are situated and a lien shall
exist for such special tax, which lien shall be foreclosed and said
expense be recovered by The City of Beaumont as in the case of any
other debt and lien in favor of The City of Beaumont.
