ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 37
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
BY ADDING A SECTION, TO BE NUMBERED SECTION
37-81.1, PROHIBITING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR-
CYCLES UPON CITY PROPERTY, EXCEPT UPON.PUBLIC
ROADWAYS, OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED MOTORCYCLE
TRAILS AND AREAS DESIGNATED FOR VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS:
That Chapter 37 of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a section, to
be numbered Section 37-81.1, which said section shall read
as follows:
"Section 37-81.1. Operation of motorcycles,
limitations.
It shall be unlawful for any person
to ride or operate a motorcycle upon
or over any property of the City of
Beaumont except upon public roadways,
officially designated motorcycle
trails, and areas designated for
vehicular traffic.
Section 2
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to
a particular person, or to a particular set of circumstances,
should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity
shall in no way affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end, the various portions and provisions
of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be
punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances.
