ORDINANCE NO. �
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW
ARTICLE ENTITLED "PLANNING" AND TO BE
NUMBERED ART. IV. AND BY ADDING TO SAID
ARTICLE A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED SEC.
42-43; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF AN
OFFICIAL STREET -AND HIGHWAY PLAN FOR STREET
DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of The
City of Beaumont has forwarded to the City Council a recommenda-
tion for the adoption of an official street and highway plan
for the purpose of pro'viding a system of arterial and collector
streets in order to improve the existing circulation network
and to provide adequate arterial and collector streets for the
future development of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont be amended by adding thereto a new Article to be
numbered Art. IV. and by adding to said Article a new Section,
to be numbered Sec. 42-43, which said Section shall read as
follows:
"Art. IV. Planning.
"Sec. 42-43.
Official Street and Highway Plan.
The Official Street and Highway Plan for
the adequate development of arterial and collector
streets in the City is hereby incorporated into
and made a part of this section by reference, and
shall be on file in the Office of the City Clerk;
provided, however, that nothing herein shall be
construed to affect the adoption of the Official
Map of the City, which ordinance of adoption is
codified in Sec. 33-1, or to affect the incorpor-
ation of the zoning map of the City, which adoption
of said zoning map is codified in Sec. 42-9.1"
