ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
37-115.2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING A NEW
SUBSECTION CALLED SUBSECTION (j); AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNATE TO ACT IN
PLACE OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE IN THE ENFORCE-
MENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
Section 1.
That Section 37-115.2 be amended by adding a new
Subsection (j), which said Subsection (j) shall read as follows:
"The City Manager or his duly authorized
representative is authorized to perform any
of the functions delegated by this Section
to the Chief of Police for enforcement of
this Ordinance."
Section 2.
If a portion or provision of this ordinance be held
invalid or unconstitutional, the validity of the remaining pro-
visions shall not be affected thereby and for this purpose, the
City Council of the City of Beaumont declares this ordinance to
be severable.
