ORDINANCE NO.+ - J
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 37-8 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
BY ADDING SUBSECTION (c)(17) THERETO; AUTHOR-
IZING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO ESTABLISH TOW
AWAY ZONES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Section 37-8 of the Code of Ordinances of The City
of Beaumont be amended by adding thereto a new subsection
numbered subsection (c)(17), which said new subsection shall
read as follows:
"(17) To designate areas along the streets of
the city which shall not be used for the
parking of vehicles and to provide that
vehicles parked in such areas may be re-
moved. Said areas shall be clearly marked
so as to sufficiently notify persons that
the area is a 'Tow Away Zone'."
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a par-
ticular person, or to a particular set of circumstances, should
for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in
no way affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to
such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance
are declared to be severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
