ORDINANCE NO. •T- ( A
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 37, SECTION
37-58(L) AND SECTION 37-58(M) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS; ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE SPEED
LIMITS UPON CERTAIN STREETS, HIGHWAYS OR PORTIONS OF
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS; BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION -
37-58(L) AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 37-58(M) CHANGING
THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS ON U.S. HIGHWAYS 69, 96
AND 287 (CARDINAL DRIVE MAIN LANES) AND ADDING A PRIMA
FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR U.S. HIGHWAY 69, 96 AND 287
(CARDINAL DRIVE FRONTAGE ROADS) AND BY CHANGING THE
LETTER DESIGNATION (M) TO (N) TO THE "SCHEDULE" OF
SPEED LIMITS AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 37-58; PROVIDING
A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That Section 37-58(L) of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:

That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall upon conviction be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the
Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
5.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid,
such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of
this ordinance are declared to be severable.

That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
