ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-3 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
BY REPEALING THE PRESENT SECTION 3-3 AND
ADDING A NEW SECTION 3-3 IN LIEU THEREOF; PRO-
VIDING THAT ALL TAXES OR FEES PRESCRIBED BY
SECTION 3-2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES SHALL BE
PAID IN ADVANCE FOR ONE YEAR; PROVIDING FOR
REPEALS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PRO-
VIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That Section 3-3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont be repealed and that a new section 3-3 of the
Code of Ordinances.be enacted in lieu thereof, which new
Section 3-3 shall read as follows:
"All taxes or fees prescribed by Section 3-2
hereof shall be paid in advance for one year.."

That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
3.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular
set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held
invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining
portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various pro-
visions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
4.
Any person who violates or fails to comply with any
provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished
as provided for in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas.
