BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
The City Council of Beaumont, Texas, hereby finds and
declares the buildings located at 449 S. Fourth, the same being
Lot 17, Block 5, of the Crockett Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 1255 Broadway, the same being Lot 3,
Block 15, of the Calder Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jeffer-
son County, Texas; 2556 Magnolia, the same being Lot 4, Block

26, of the North Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas; 2965 Taliferro, the same being Lot 1, Block 2,
of the Manning Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas; 955-65-75-77 Schwarner, the same being Lot 5,
Block 8, of the Leonard Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 992 Wall, the same being Lot 6, Block
11, of the Van Wormer Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jeffer-
son County, Texas; 1307-27-45 South, the same being Lots 1-2-3,
Block 34, of the Calder Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 1100 Block South, the same being
Block 33, of the Calder Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 1380 Center, the same being Lots 10-
11-12, Block 9, of the Jirou Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 1109 Avenue A, the same being Lot 128,
Block 11, of the Crary Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 567 Pine, the same being Lot 709,
Block 31, of the Beaumont Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 3890 Renaud, the same being Tract 40,
Plat B-17, of the A. Williams Survey to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 1843-47 Texas, the same being Lot 9,
Block 8, of the North Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; and 2400 Block Durden, the same being
Tract 133, Block D-12, of the A. Williams Survey to the City
of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, each to be a public
nuisance in that said buildings are for want of repairs, or
by reason of age or dilapidated condition, liable to cause or
promote fires that would.endanger persons or property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the
Charter of the City of Beaumont, and Section 13-20 of the Code

of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the
Southern Standard Building Code, the same having been incorpor-
ated by reference into the ordinances of the City of Beaumont by
Section 8-1 of said ordinance, it is hereby ordered that the
owner or owners of the buildings located upon the above-described
property in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
demolish and tear down within thirty (30) days of the date of
the passage of this ordinance, said structures so located on
the above-described property; and, if such action is not taken,
the owners of said buildings shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and said buildings shall be demolished and removed
at the expense of the City of Beaumont on the account of the
owner thereof; and such expense shall be assessed as a special
tax against the property upon which said buildings are situated
and a lien shall exist for such special tax, which lien shall
be foreclosed and said expense be recovered by the City of
Beaumont as in the case of any other debt and lien in favor
of the City of Beaumont.
