ORDINANCE NO. 7 _
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-8
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY'OF
BEAUMONT BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION THERETO,
WHICH SAID NEW SUBSECTION SHALL BE NUMBERED
SUBSECTION (6); PROVIDING A MAXIMUM SEWER
RATE FOR RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED.BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: --
Section 1.
That Section 32-8 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Beaumont shall be amended by adding a new subsection
thereto, which said new subsection shall be entitled subsection
(6), and which said subsection shall read as follows:
"(6) The monthly sewer charge for residential
customers as provided above shall not
exceed Six ($6.00) Dollars per month.
Where a single water meter services more
than one (1) dwelling unit, the monthly
sewer charge shall not exceed Six ($6.00)
Dollars per dwelling unit. Where a single
water meter services both residential and
commercial units, all units so serviced
shall be treated as commercial units for
the purposes of this subsection."
Section 2.
If a portion or provision of this ordinance shall be
held invalid or unconstitutional, the validity of the remaining
provision shall not be affected thereby and for this purpose,
the City Council of the City of Beaumont declares this ordinance
severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
