HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 72-27LN/gh/5/18/72 ORDINANCE NO.� I ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE PASSED ON THE 2ND DAY OF MAY, 1972 TO CHANGE THE ELECTION DATE IN SAID ORDINANCE FROM THE 13TH DAY OF JUNE, 1972 TO THE 17TH DAY OF JUNE, 1972. WHEREAS, on May 2, 1972, the City Council of -the City of Beaumont passed an ordinance ordering a special election to be held in the City of Beaumont, Texas, on the 13th day of June, 1972 to determine whether the proposed minimum salary of $704.00 per month for firemen and policemen shall be adopted; naming the place at which said election shall be held; appointing judges and alternates to preside over said election; providing for the form of notice thereof; providing for the form of ballot for use at said election; and providing the manner of holding said election; and, WHEREAS, the Council desires to amend said ordinance to change only the date of said election from June 13, 1972 to June 17, 1972; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: Section 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance passed May 2, 1972 is hereby amended to read as follows: "That in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the State of Texas, a special election within the corporate limits of the City of Beaumont is hereby ordered to be held on the 17th day of June, 1972., to determine whether the pro- posed minimum salary of $704.00 per month for firemen and policemen shall be adopted." 9- �a-�7 5'-a 3- 73 14-q ATTEST: PASSED by the City Council this the �.da.y of 1972.
