ORDINANCE NO. U- � 7
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 37-58.1
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
BY ESTABLISHING A PRIMA FACIA] SPEED LIMIT ON
COLLEGE STREET FROM A POINT 210 FEET EAST OF
AVENUE E TO A POINT 195 FEET WEST OF AVENUE E;
PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That Section 37-58.1 of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas is hereby amended by adding a prima facie 20
mile an hour speed limit'on College Street, said prima facie
speed limit to be placed in the present Section 37-58.1 after
the designation for "Church Street" and before the designation
of 10North Circuit Drive" in said Section 37-58.1, said addition
to read as follows:
"College Street
East & From a point 210 feet east of Avenue E
West to a point 195 feet west of Avenue E"
2.
That any person who violates any provision of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in
Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
3.
That if any section, subs,ection,sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a par-
ticular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the

various portions and provisions ofthis ordinance are declared
to be severable.
4.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
