HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 72-60KEWJr/im/11/:/72 M fr ORDINANCE NO. 7�� ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4-8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT BY REPEALING THE PRESENT SECTION 4-8 AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 4-8 IN LIEU THEREOF; PROVIDING REQUIRE- MENTS FOR APPLICATION FOR AN AMBULANCE DRIVER'S LICENSE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING A REPEAL; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That Section 4-8 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by repealing the present Section 4-8 and enacting a new Section 4-8 in lieu thereof, which said new Section 4-8 shall read as follows: "Sec. 4-8. Application for ambulance driver's -license. "Application for a City of Beaumont ambulance driver's license shall be made in writing to the health director of the City of Beaumont on a form provided for that purpose. Such application shall give the name, address, and telephone number of the applicant. The applicant.must be twenty-one (21) years old, the holder of a valid Texas chauffeur's license, the holder of a current Red Cross card certify- ing that the holder thereof has passed the advance Red Cross first aid course or the holder of a certificate certifying that the applicant has passed the Emergency Medical Technician -Ambulance 81 -Hour Training Course provided by the Texas State Department of Health and shall not have been convicted of a felony or of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude within the past ten (10) years. Such application must be signed and sworn to before a notary public." Section 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this />--7,? - / q /2 /�- -7 .,Z /4/5z ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. That any person. who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
