ORDINANCE NO. 73_27 a
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
A PORTION OF LEVERT STREET BETWEEN THE SOUTH
LINE OF CALDER AVENUE AND THE NORTH LINE OF THE
REALIGNED MISSOURI -PACIFIC RIGHT-OF-WAY, AS
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.
WHEREAS, Levert Street between the south line of Calder
Avenue and the north line of the realigned Missouri -Pacific
right-of-way has never been developed or opened as an official:
street; and,
WHEREAS, the vacation and abandonment of a portion of
Levert Street, more particularly described herein, between the
south line of Calder Avenue and the north line of the realigned
Missouri -Pacific right-of-way in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, has been approved by the Planning and Zoning i
Commission of The City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is in the
best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public
that the herein described portion of Levert Street be vacated
and abandoned; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the portion of a strip of land known as Levert Street,
as designated on the unrecorded plat of the Wiess Park Sub-
division in the Charles Williams League, Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, lying between the south line of Calder Avenue
and the north line of the realigned Missouri -Pacific right-of-way
in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, be, and the
same is hereby, vacated and abandoned, and that title to said
portion of said vacated and abandoned street shall revert to'
and become the property of the persons entitled thereto as
provided by law.
