ORDINANCE NO. 73-33
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15A
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, BY REPEALING SECTION 15A-1 AND ENACTING
THEREFOR A NEW SECTION 15A -1 -ADOPTING THE 1969
EDITION AND 1972 REVISION TO THE SOUTHERN STANDARD
GAS CODE AS THE GAS CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT;
PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Section 15A-1 of Chapter 15A of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont, Texas, be repealed and a new Section 15A-1
be adopted to read as follows:
"Sec. 15A-1. Gas -Code adopted.
"The 1969 Edition of the Southern Standard
Gas Code and the 1972 Revision to the Southern
Standard Gas Code are hereby adopted and declared
operative as the Gas Code of the City of Beaumont,
save and except such portions as are herein
deleted, modified and amended by this Code of
Ordinances."
Section 2.
That any person who violates any provision of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in
Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
Section 3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular
set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to
be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remain-
ing portions of this ordinance, and to that end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
