ORDINANCE NO-. 73-31.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 37, SEC-
TION 37-58(B) BY.DELETING THE PRESENT SECTION
37-58(B) AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 37-58(B), AND
BY AMENDING SECTION 37-58.3(d).AND ADDING A NEW
SECTION 37-58(0) ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE SPEED
LIMITS UPON U.S. HIGHWAY 69, 96 AND 287 (MAIN
LANES) AND UPON U.S. HIGHWAY 69, 96 AND 287
(FRONTAGE ROADS), RESPECTIVELY; PROVIDING A
PENALTY; PROVIDNG FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEAL-
ING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Section 37-58(B) of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas, is hereby repealed and a new Section 37-58(B)
is hereby added to read as follows:

Section 2.
That Section 38-58.3(d) of the Code of Ordinances. of
Beaumont, Texas, is hereby repealed and a new Section 37-58(0)
is hereby added to read as follows:

Section 3.
That any person who violates any provision of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished -as provided -In
Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
Section 4.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a par-

ticular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to that end the
various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared
to be severable.
Section 5.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
