JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS; 2350 ROBERTS STREET,
THE SAME BEING LOT 12, BLOCK 55, CARTWRIGHT
IST ADDITION, ACCOUNT NO. 17 057 00 TO THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS;
3170 ST. JAMES BLVD., THE SAME BEING LOT 12,
BLOCK 30, WEST OAKLAND ADDITION, ACCOUNT NO.
68 050 00 TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS; 3123 WESTMORELAND STREET, THE
SAME BEING LOT 1, BLOCK 30, WEST OAKLAND ADDI-
TION, ACCOUNT NO. 68 041 00 TO THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE A
PUBLIC NUISANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
The City Council of Beaumont, Texas, hereby finds and
declares the buildings located at 3095 Elinor Street, the same
being Lot 5, Block 37, West Oakland Addition, Account No. 68
143 00 to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; 2350
Roberts Street, the same being Lot 12, Block 55, Cartwright
1st Addition, Account No. 17 057 00 to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas; 3170 St. James Blvd., the same being
Lot 12, Block 30, West Oakland Addition, Account No. 68 050 00
to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; 3123 Westmore-
land Street, the same being Lot 1, Block 30, West Oakland Addi-
tion, Account No. 68 041 00 to -.the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, each to be a public nuisance in that said build-
ings are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or dilapidated
condition, liable to cause or promote fires that would endanger
persons or property.
Section -2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the
Charter of the City of Beaumont, and Section 13-20 of the Code
of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the
Southern Standard Building Code, the same having been incorpor-
ated by reference into the ordinances of the City of Beaumont -
by Section 8-1 of said ordinances,, it is hereby ordered that
the owner or owners of the buildings located upon the above-
described property in the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, demolish and.tear.down within thirty (30) days of the
date of the passage of this ordinance, -said structures so loca-
ted on the above- described -property; and, if such action is not
taken, the owners of said buildings shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and said buildings shall be demolished and removed -
at the expense of the City -of Beaumont on the account of the
owner thereof; and such expense shall be assessed as a special
tax against the property upon which said buildings are situated
and a lien shall exist for such special tax, which lien shall
be foreclosed and said expense be recovered by the City of Beau-
mont as in the case of any other debt and lien in favor of the
City of Beaumont.
