APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED THE "ANNUAL APPROPRIATION
ORDINANCE" ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1964 AND ENDING
JUNE 30, 19655 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT; APPORTIONING THE FUNDS OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT; REPEALING ALL. ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of The City of Beaumont has
submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues
of said City and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof
for the ensuing fiscal year beginning July 1, 1964 and ending June
30, 1965, and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed
information obtained from the several departments, divisions and
offices of the City, containing all of .',the information as re-
quired by the Charter of The City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's
estimate and is of the opinion that the same should be approved
and adopted as required by the Charter of The City of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the budget estimate of the revenues of The City of
Beaumont and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the
ensuing fiscal year, beginning July 1, 1964 and ending July 30,
1965, as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said
City, be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as
the budget estimate of all of the current expenses as well as the
fixed charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the
1st day of July, 1964 and ending the 30th day of June, 1965.
Section 2.
That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund
the sum of $5,954,769.00 for the.following purposes:

Section 3.
That there is hereby appropriated out of the following
funds the sums indicated and for the purposes stated:
(a) Sewer Revenue Fund:
Operations ...................$ 442,042.00
Payment to General Fund...... 20,000.00
Property Owner Refunds....... 34.,000.00
Pro Rata Fund ............... 30,000.00
Total ...... $ 526,042.00 r
(b) Temperance Hall Fund:
Library and Charities ....... .$ 6,000.00
Section 4.
That there is hereby appropriated out of the Water Works
Revenue Fund the sum of $1,837,072.00 for the following purposes:
Operations ........................$ 709,114.00
Debt Service ...................... 662,910.00
Bond Reserve............ ........ 12,048.00
Payment to General Fund........... 350,000.00
Property Owner Refund ............. 53,000.00
Pro Rata Fund .................... 50,000.00
Total ...... $1,837,072.00
Section S.
That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Debt
Service Fund the sum of $2,051,567.00 for the purpose of paying
the accrued interest on bonds, redeeming time warrants as they
mature, and paying interest thereon:
Bond Interest Requirements ........$ 872,983.00
Bond Maturities ................... 946,500.00
Warrant Maturities ................ 28,790.00
Warrant Interest Requirements..... 1,294.00
Bank Exchange Charges ............. 2,000.00
Reserve Provision ................ 200,000.00
