ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFI- CIAIS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO 'EXECUTE AND DELIVER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, A QUIT- CLAIM DEED CONVEYING ALL OF THE CITYTS RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST IN AND TO TRACT 19, PIAT B-10 OF THE. J. W. BULLOCK SURVEY, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEF- FERSON COUNTY,,TEXAS,,AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, TO NORA BAILEY. WHEREAS, on the 30th day of December, 1935, The City of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Jim,(James) Bailey, and the foreclosure of a' tax lien upon Tract 19, Plat B-10 of the J. W. Bullock Survey, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.;- and, WHEREAS, the above described property was sold at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien and The City of Beaumont purchased said property at said auction and obtained a Sheriffts Deed, dated July 10, 1936,'and recorded in Volume 419, Page 312 of the Deed -Records of Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance passed by the City Com- mission of The City of Beaumont on February 6, 1945, the right, title and interest of The City of Beaumont in said property was sold to Nora Bailey, but the instrument of conveyance was never re- corded and cannot be found by the present owner of said property; and, WHEREAS, the present owner of said property has requested that the City again quitclaim said property to Nora Bailey in order to clear the title to said property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That Jack M. Moore, Mayor, be and he is hereby authorized to execute and deliver for and on behalf of The City of Beaumont a Quitclaim Deed to Nora Bailey, conveying to her all of the Ci.tyts right, title and interest in and to the hereinafter described property: Being what is known as Tract 19, Plat B--10, of the J. W. Bullock Survey, of Jefferson County, Texas, according to the map or plat of assessor's records in the office of the assessor and Collector,. City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, same being more particularly described as follows: Being the remainder of a tract of four (4) acres .of land deeded to James Bailey by Vince Bailey on June 10th, 1895, according to deed records Volume 49, Page 215, same being described in said deed as the North half of a certain eight -acre tractof land con- veyed by Allen Gill and wife to V. H. Bailey _,_by deed dated December 15th, 1893, and recorded in Book 7, Page 521, et seq., of Deed Records of Jef- ferson County, Texas, the land herein conveyed con- taining about 4 acres 'Less a strip of land 40 feet by 448 feet deeded to the City of Beaumont by Jim Bailey on May 16th, 1927, Volume 283, Page 447, of' deed records for Hazzard Street; and a tract of land 100 by 140 feet deeded to Vince Bailey and wife Preston Bailey, Volume 327, Page 497, July 3rd, 1929; also tract of land 100 by 140 feet deeded to Walter Bailey October 27th, 1930, according to Volume 350, Page 150 of Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas;' and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
