ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAtS, BY AMENDING SECTIONS
8-1, AND 8-2, SUBSECTION (1) (d), PROVIDING FOR ADOPTING
THE 1965 EDITION OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE;
AND PROVIDING FOR PERMIT FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS. -

EXAS:
1.
That Section 8--1 of The Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
%'Sec. 8-1..Southern Standard Building Code ----Adoption."
There is hereby adopted by the city for the purpose of
establishing rules and regulations for the construction,
alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and
occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and
structures, excluding permits and penalties, that cer-
tain building code known as the Southern Standard
Building Code recommended by the Southern Building Code.
Congress, being particularly the 1965 Revision thereof,
and all amendments thereof, of which one copy has been
and now is filed in the office of the city clerk of the
city and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as
fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date
on which this section shall take effect, the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the construction, altera-
tion, repair, removal, demolition, equipment and main-
tenance of all buildings and other structures within the
corporate limits of the city, save and except the portions
of the Southern Standard Building Code which are hereby
deleted, substituted, modified or amended as set forth
in this chapter.
2.
That Section 8--2, (1) (d) of the Code of Ordinances of
Beaumont, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"Sec. 8-2. Permit Fees .'x
"(1) (d).'p Permits for house moving $.025 per square
foot outside dimension, with $5.00 minimum.
