CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A SPECIAL
WARRANTY DEED TO PETER W. MAIDA, CONVEYING 78 SQUARE
FEET OF LAND, MORE .OR LESS, OUT OF TOT 121 BLOCK 38
OF THE JARRETTE ADDITION, IN THE CITY -.aF BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, FOR A
CASH CONSIDERATION •OF' X150:00. .
WHEREAS, bids were received by the City fcor the sale of
land owned by The City of Beaumont located between the east line of
17th Street and the West right -of. -way line of U. S. Highway g0,
now known as Interstate 10. -North, and Peter W. Maida submitted a
bid in the sum of .One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00). Dollars for the
purchaseof said property, which was the only bid received; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is to
the best interest of the City that the hereinafter described prop-
erty be conveyed to Peter'W. Maida for the sum of One Hundred and
Fifty ($150.00) Dollars cash, said property being described as fol-
lows:
Being that portion of Tot 12, Block 38, Jarrette
Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, lying between the east line of 17th Street
and the West r.ight,of--way line of U. S. Highway g0,
now known as Interstate 10 - North, and being more
particularly described by metes and bounds as fol-
lows.-
Beginning
ol-.lows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of said Lot 12,
Block 38, Jarrette Addition, said point being at the
intersection of the East line of 17th Street as now
established with the South line of 'Liberty avenue
as now established;
Thence North 88 degrees 57 minutes East alongthe
south line of said Liberty avenue as now .established
or the north line of said Tot 12 two and fifty-seven
hundredths (2.57) feet to corner in the west right. -
of. -way line of said Interstate 10 - North, as now
established;
Thence South 01 degree 23 minutes West along the West
right--of--way line of said Interstate 10 North sixty
and seven -.tenths (60.7) feet, more or less, to corner
in the east line of said 17th Street as new established
or the west line of said Lot 12;
Thence North 01 degree 03 minutes West along the east
line of said 17th Street as now established or the west
line of said -Lot 12 sixty and sixty-five hundredths
(60.65) feet to the place of beginning;
The above described tract contains 78 square feet,
more or less;
NOW, THERTEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS:
That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and deliver a special warranty deed on behalf of The City of Beaumont
conveying the above-described property to Peter'W. Maida, upon re-
ceipt of :One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars cash; and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to affix
the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
PASSED By the City Council this 13th day of July, 1965.
