HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 14 HHeI1A ilea ") ORDINANCE NO. (p ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF BROADWAY LYING WITHIN THE TRACT OF LAND DESCRIBED HEREIN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That that portion of the street known as Broadway lying within the tract of land hereinafter described, in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated, and that title to said portion of.said street revert to and become the property.. of the parties entitled thereto by law, said tract of land being described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point in.the north line of Broad- way as now established in the City of Beaumont. and also being on the extension northward of the east line of Orleans Street as established through the :Original Beaumont Townsite, said point lying North 89 degrees 58 minutes East seventy and fifty- three hundredths (70.53) feet from the east line of Willow Street as now established; Thence North 89 degrees 58 minutes East along the said north line of Broadway as now established one hundred eighty-four and ninety-eight hundredths (184.98) feet to corner, said point being sixty-one and eleven hundredths (61.11) feet perpendicularly distant from the south line of Broadway as now established from Main Street to Orleans Street; Thence South 49 degrees 35 minutes 30 seconds West along a line parallel with and sixty-one and eleven hundredths (61.11) feet distant from the said south line of Broadway as now established from Main Street to Orleans Street one hundred forty and ninety-two hundredths (140.92) feet to corner in the east line of Orleans Street as now established through the Original Beaumont Townsite produced northward; Thence North 40 degrees 24 minutes 30 seconds West along the said east line of Orleans Street as now established through the Original Beaumont Townsite produced one hundred nineteen and eighty-three hun- dredths (119.83) feet to the place of beginning. The above described tract contains 8443 square feet more or less I Conditioned, however, that the vacating and abandoning of that portion of Broadway shall be subject to all utilities now within said street, and subject to the right to go upon said prop- erty for the purpose of maintaining said utilities, and further, that no structure of any kind be erected over the sanitary sewer line of'The City of Beaumont, and that no structure be erected over the other utilities in said street in any manner so as to in- terfere with the proper maintenance of said utilities; the right to operate and maintain all utilities now in said street are ex- pressly reserved.
