ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF MADISON AVENUE EAST OF GROVE STREET
IN OAKWOOD ADDITION TO'THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS,.AS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ;ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.-
That
EXAS:
That the following described portion of Madison Avenue East of
Grove Street in Oakwood Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jeffer-
son County, Texas, be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned,
and that title to said portion of said street revert to and become
the property of the parties -:entitled thereto by law, said property
being described as follows, to wit:
BEING a rectangular shape tract of land and a part
of Madison Avenue right.of way in the Oakwood Addi-
tion to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas; more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Tot,14.of Block
-E of Oakwood Addition as replatted and as recorded
in Map Records of Jefferson County, Texas, in Volume
4, Page 67, same corner -being the point of intersec-
tion of the North right-of-way line of Madison Avenue
and the East right-of-way line of Grove Street;
THENCE East along the South line of lots 14, 13, 12, 11,
10, 9, and 8 of Block E of the aforesaid Oakwood Addi-
tion and same being the North line of Madison Avenue
right of.way for a distance of 324.7 feet to the South-
east corner oflot 8 of Block E of the aforesaid Oakwood
Addition;
THENCE in a Southerly direction for a distance of 60
feet to the Northeast corner of Tot 7 of Block F of
the aforesaid Oakwood Addition;
THENCE in a Westerly direction along the North line
of Lots 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 of Block F of the
Oakwood Addition, same being the 'South line of Madi-
son Avenue right of way for a distance of 323.7 feet
to Northwest corner of'Eot 1 of Block F of the Oak-
wood Addition;
THENCE in a Northerly direction for distance of 60
feet to the point of beginning.
PASSED by the City Council this 14th day of June, 1966.
