AN ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING GULF STATES
UTILITIES COMPANY TO PLACE IN EFFECT NEW RATE
SCHEDULES TO -WIT: SCHEDULES RL, RURAL "NIGHT
WATCH't LIGHTING SERVICE,.AND SHL, STREET AND
HIGHWAY LIGHTING SERVICE; TO CANCEL SCHEDULES
500, 500-S, 501, 503, 504, 505, AND 523 WHICH
ARE SUPERSEDED BY SCHEDULE SHL; AND TO PLACE
INTO -EFFECT REVISED SCHEDULE 520, MISCELLANEOUS
CONTRACT RATE FOR MUNICIPAL STREET LIGHTING
SERVICE - BEAUMONT,.TEXAS';,..WHICH SUPERSEDES
SCHEDULE 520 DATED JUNE 1., 1965; EFFECTIVE
AS TO SERVICE RENDERED BY SUCH COMPANY ON AND
AFTER OCTOBER 1, 1966.
WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company on September 9 , 1966,
has requested authority to place into effect new Schedules RL and.
SHL; and also to place into.eff.ect Revised' -.Schedule 520. Such new
and revised schedules have been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Beaumont, and approved by the City Council;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS
Section 1.
That Gulf States Utilities Company is hereby authorized to place
into effect as to service rendered by it on and after Octob6r=1„ 1966,
to its customers located in Beaumont, Texas, new Rate Schedules RL,
SHL, and revised Schedule 520; and Gulf States is further authorized
to cancel, upon said new.schedules being placed in effect, its
previously effective Schedules 500, 500-S, 501, 503, 504, 505, and
523.
Section 2.
That nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed in any
manner now or.hereafter limiting or modifying the right and power
of the City Council under the law to regulate the rates charged
by Gulf States Utilities Company for its services within the City
of Beaumont.
