ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING 'A
PORTION OF VERMONT AVENUE BETWEEN CUNNINGHAM
STREET AND CALLAGHAN STREET AS DESCRIBED HEREIN,
SAID ABANDONMENT BEING SUBJECT TO CERTAIN GUY
EASEMENTS IN FAVOR OF GULF STATES UTILITIES COM-
PANY AND SOUTHWESTERN BELT, TELEPHONE COMPANY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That that portion of the street known as Vermont Avenue, as here-
inafter described, in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned,.subject
to the conditions hereinafter stated, and that title to said por-
tion of said street revert to and become the property of the par-
ties entitled thereto by;;- law, said portion of Vermont Avenue to
be abandoned being described as follows, to wit:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of the inter-
section; the southerly 601 right-of-way line of
Vermont Avenue and the easterly 601 right-of-way
line of Cunningham Street, said point being the
same as the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 33,
Lamar Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County;
THENCE in an easterly direction along the south-
erly right-of-way line of Vermont Avenue to a
point 40 feet west of the northeast corner of Lot
12, Block 33 of said Addition;
THENCE in a northerly direction a distance of 60
feet to a point, said point being 40 feet west of
the southeast corner of Lot 13, Block 28 of said
addition and in the northerly right-of-way line
of Vermont Avenue;
THENCE in a westerly direction along the north-'
erly right-of-way line of Vermont Avenue to the
intersecti.on.of the east right-of-way line of
Cunningham Street and the north right-of-way line
of Vermont Avenue, said point being the same as
the southwest corner of Lot 24, Block 28 of said
addition;
THENCE in a southerly direction to the point of
beginning, said point being the northwest corner
of Lot 1, Block 33 of said addition;

conditioned, however, that the vacating and abandoning of that
portion of Vermont Avenue shall be subject to the retention of
two guy easements for the benefit of Gulf States Utilities Com-
pany and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, who shall have the
right to use the property described in the guy easements for the
purpose of constructing and. maintaining guy wires and matters
appurtenant thereto within said described tracts; the guy ease-
ments shall be three (3) feet in width and are described as fol-
lows:
(1) The centerline of said easement beginning
1--1/2 feet north of the southeast corner
of the intersection of the 60. -foot right
of way of Vermont .avenue with Cunningham
Street and thence east paralleling the ex-
isting south line of Vermont Avenue for a
distance of 30 feet, said easement being
1-1/2 feet either side of this centerline
(2) The centerline of said easement beginning
1--1/2 feet north and 40 feet west of the
existing southwest corner of the intersec-
tion of the 60 -afoot right of way of Vermont
Avenue with Callaghan Street and thence
paralleling the existing south line of Ver-
mont Avenue for a distance of 30 feet, said
easement being 1--1/2 feet either side of
this centerline.
