ORDINANCE NO. -61
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING THE BUILDING LOCATED
UPON LOT SIX (6), BLOCK TWO (2) OF PARKDALE ADDI-
TION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY,
TEXAS.,, -TO BE A: NUISANCE, AND ORDERING IT TO BE RE-
PAIRED;AND RESTORED TO Al SAFE CONDITION OR DEMOL-.
ISHED WITHIN SIXTY (60) DAYS OR TO BE DEMOLISHED
BY THE .CITY OF BEAUMONT; MAKING FAILURE TO COMPLY
A MISDEMEANOR; AND PROVIDING FOR A LIEN FOR ANY EX-
PENSE INCURRED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT IN HAVING
SAID BUILDING DEMOLISHED.
BE IT :ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
The City Council of'The City of Beaumont, Texas, hereby
finds and declares the building located at 1995 Laurel Street, the
same being Lot Six (6), Block Two (2) of P'arkdale Addition to The
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, to be a public nuisance,
in that said building constitutes a fire hazard and is structur-
ally unsafe.
Section 2.
In accordance with Section 8 of the Charter and Section
13-20 of the Code'of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, it is hereby
ordered that the owner of the building located at 1995 Laurel
Street, the same being -Lot Six (6), Block Two (2) of Parkdale Addi-
tion.to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, to be re-
paired and restored to a safe condition or demolished within sixty
(60) days, and if such action is not taken, the owner of said build-
ing shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and said building shall
be demolished and removed at the expense of The City of Beaumont on
the account of the owner thereof, and such expense shall be asses-
sed as a special tax against the property upon which said building
is situated and a lien shall exist for such special tax, which
