ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
A UTILITY EASEMENT 15 FEET IN. WIDTH LOCATED IN
THE ABANDONED -17TH STREET RIGHT -OF WAY, SOUTH
OF CALDER AVENUE, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That these certain utility", easements being'described as follows,
to wit:
BEING an easement for utility purposes fifteen
(15) feet in width and one hundred twenty-five
(125) feet in length along the western portion
of 17th Street now abandoned in The City of,
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, and being
more particularly described by metes and bounds
as follows:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of Lot 1,
Block 23, Jarrette Addition to The City of
Beaumont, Jefferson.County, Texas, said point
being in the west line of 17th Street now
abandoned and also being in the north line of
a twelve (12) feet wide alley in said Block 23;
THENCE East along the eastward projection of -the
south line of said Lot 1 or the north line of
said twelve (12) feet wide alley fifteen (15)
feet to corner;
THENCE North along a line parallel with and fifteen
(15) fdetl]distant from the east line of said Lot 1
or the west line of said 17th Street as now abandoned
one hundred twenty-five (125) feet to corner, said
point lying fifteen (15) feet south of the south line
of Calder Avenue as,now established or the north
line of Lot 1 extended eastward;
THENCE West fifteen (15) feet to corner in the
east line of said Lot 1 or the west line of said
17th Street as now abandoned;
THENCE South.along the east line of said Lot 1
or the west line of said 17th Street as now abandoned
one hundred twenty-five (125) feet to the place
of beginning,
and,
BEING an easement for utility purposes fifteen i(15)
feet in width and seventy-five (75) feet in length
along the western portion of what was known as
17th Street in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, and being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:

BEGINNING at. the northeast corner.of Lot 22,
Block 23, Jarrette Addition to The City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, said point
being in the south line of a twelve'(12) feet
wide alley in said Block 23 and also being in^the
west.line of what was known -as 17th Street;
THENCE South along the east lines of Lots 22,
215 20, Block 23, Jarrette Addition or the west. - -
line-of--what--rags -known as 17th Street seventy-
five (75) feet to the southeast corner of Lot 20
of said Block 23;
THENCE East along the eastward projection of the
south line of said Lot 20 fifteen (15) feet to
corner;
THENCE.North along a -.line parallel to and fifteen
:(15) feet distant from the east"lines of said Lots
20, 21, 22, or the west line of what.was known
as 17th Street seventy-five (75) feet to corner,
said point being in the projection eastward of the
south line of said twelve (12) feet wide alley
in said Block 23 or the north line of said Lot 22;
THENCE West fifteen (15) feet to the place of beginning.
be and the same are hereby vacated and abandoned, and that title
to such property shall revert to and become the property of the
persons entitled thereto, as provided by law; and The City of
Beaumont, hereby relinquishes any and all right, title and
interest it had or may have in and to such easement.
PASSED by the City Council .this 23rd day of May, 1967.
