ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING AN
ALLEY IN BLOCK SEVENTEEN (17) OF VAN WORMER 2ND
ADDITION AND SOUTHWARD. EXTENSION OF SAID ALLEY TO
THE INTERSECTION WITH INTERSTATE 10_SOUTH,�,DESCRIBED
HEREIN9 IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: JEFFERSON COUNTY2
TEXAS.
WHEREAS' a petition has been presented to the City Council
of The City of Beaumont] signed by.the owners of all of the prop-
erty abutting an alley in.Block 17 of Van Wormer 2nd Addition and
southward extension of said alley to intersection with Interstate
10 -South., more particularly described as follows:
Being a twenty.(20) foot wide alley running north
and south in Block 17 of the Van Wormer 2nd Addi-
tion to.The City of Beaumont' Texas,, and.said alley
extending south of the south line of said -Addition
to intersection with Interstate 10"South.,.andssaid
alley.in its entiretyeextending from West Cedar
.Street to Interstate 10 -South and'being in the Noah
Tevis Survey.,Beaumont,, Jefferson County) Texas,
requesting that,.~said alley:be vacated and abandoned; and.,
WHEREAS: it appears -',to the City Council that it is to the
best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public
that the above described alley be vacated and abandoned;
NOW., THEREFORE., BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.,
TEXAS:
That the alley in Block 17 of the Van Wo.rmer'2nd.Addition and
southward extension of said alley to the intersection with Inters.
state 10-»South'.above described., be., and the same is hereby
vacated and abandoned., and that title. -to said vacated and abandoned
alley shall revert to and become the property of the parties en-
titled thereto' as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council this 26th day of March�.A.D. 1963.
