HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 78 I I47 ORDINANCE N0.A 9-- ENTITLED p ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT A QUITCLAIM DEED CONVEYING ALL OF THE CITY'S RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST IN AND TO THE WEST -SEVENTY-TWO FEET (72') OF LOTS NO. ELEVEN (11), TWELVE (12), AND THIRTEEN (13), IN BLOCK NO. FIFTEEN (15), OF THE OGDEN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, TO JOSEPH APLON. WHEREAS, on the 30th day of September, 1963, The City of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against H. L. Blanchette, et al and the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the West seventy-two '(72') feet of Lots No. Eleven (11), Twelve (12) and Thirteen (13), in Block No. Fifteen (15), of the Ogden Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described property was sold at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien and The City of Beaumont purchased said property at said auction and obtained a Sheriff's Deed, dated December 10, 1963, and recorded in Volume 1370, Page 64 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont issued public notice and accepted bids on the above described property and the Tax Assessor -Collector has recommended that the highest bid be accepted because said property has been on the delinquent tax rolls since 1930, said bid is not a sufficient amount to cover all delinquent taxes, penalties and interest which are due the respective taxing authorities, however, the consent to sell the said property for the lesser amount bid was obtained from The Beaumont Independent School District and the County of Jefferson, said bid being in the amount of Eight Hundred and No/100 ($800.00) Dollars; -—o NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That James D. McNicholas, Mayor, be and he is hereby, authorized to execute and deliver for and on behalf of The City of Beaumont a Quitclaim Deed to Joseph Aplon, conveying to him all of the City's right, title and interest in and to the hereinafter described property: The West Seventy-two Feet (72') of Lots No. Eleven (11), Twelve (12), and Thirteen (13), in Block No. Fifteen (15), of the Ogden Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
