ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
A TWENTY (20) FOOT GENERAL UTILITY EASEMENT
RUNNING EAST AND WEST FOR THREE HUNDRED FIFTY
(350) FEET, LYING IN BLOCK TWENTY-TWO (22) OF
THE JIROU ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That general utility easement, as hereinafter described, in
The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, be and the same
is hereby vacated and abandoned, said easement to be abandoned
being described as follows, to wit:
Being a twenty (20) foot general utility easement
running east and west for three hundred fifty
(350) feet, lying in Block twenty-two (22) of
the Jirou Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jef-
ferson County, Texas; said easement resulting
from abandonment of alley in Block 22 by
Ordinance of City of Beaumont on May 19, 1937;
said addition recorded in Jefferson County Map
Records Volume 1, Page 14, and more particularly
de:scribed as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the westerly right-of-
way line of the Mariposa Street seventy (70)
foot right-of-way, said point being the south-
east corner of Lot one (1), Block twenty-two
(22), Jirou Addition to The City of Beaumont;
THENCE in a westerly direction along the
southerly lot lines of lots one (1) through
seven (7), Block twenty-two (22), said addition,
a distance of -three hundred fifty (350) feet
to a point for corner, said point being in the
easterly right-of-way line of the Gulf Street
sixty (60) foot right-of-way, said point also
being the southwest corner of Lot seven (7),
Block twenty-two (22), said addition;
THENCE in a southerly direction along the
easterly right-of-way line of Gulf Street for
a distance of twenty (20) feet to a point for
corner, said point being in the easterly right-
of-way line of the Gulf Street sixty (60) foot
right-of-way, said point also being the north-
west corner of Lot eight (8), Block twenty-two
(22), said addition;
THENCE in an easterly direction along the
northerly lot lines of Lots eight (8) through
fourteen (14), Block twenty-two (22), said
addition, a distance of three hundred fifty
(350) feet to a point for corner, said point
being in the westerly right-of-way line of the
Mariposa Street seventy (70) foot right-of-way,
said point also being the northeast corner of
Lot fourteen (14), Block twenty-two (22), said
addition;
THENCE in a northerly direction along the west
right-of-way line of the Mariposa Street
seventy_ (70) foot_right-o_f.-way a distance_. of _
twenty (20) feet to a point for corner, said
point being the place of beginning, containing
.16 acres of land, more or less.
