37-58 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS;
ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS UPON CERTAIN
STREETS, HIGHWAYS, OR PORTIONS OF STREETS AND
HIGHWAYS WHEN SIGNS ARE ERECTED GIVING NOTICE -
THEREOF; BY CHANGING PORTIONS OF U. S. HIGHWAYS 69,
96 AND 287, AND BY ADDING A PORTION OF ELEVENTH
STREET TO THE "SCHEDULE" OF SPEED LIMIT REGULATIONS
OF SECTION 37-58; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That section 37-58 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:

Sec. 37-58. Same --Changed in certain zones.
It is hereby determined upon the basis,of an engineering
and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state
law upon the streets or portions thereof described in the
schedule below is greater -in some cases and less in some
cases than is reasonable or safe under the conditions
found to exist upon such streets'or portions thereof,
and i,t is hereby declared that the prima facie speed
limit upon those streets or portions.thereof described
in the schedule below shall be as therein stated, when
signs are erected giving notice thereo.f.
S C H E D U L E
In accordance with this section, and when signs are
erected giving notice thereof, the prima facie speed
limit shall be as set forth in this schedule, at all
times, upon those streets or portions.thereof specified
herein:
