HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 58 I IORDINANCE NO. 6 C( , Z ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE,NUMBERED SECTION 6-8.1 PRO- HIBITING THE KEEPING CERTAIN ANIMALS WITHIN 150' OF RESIDENCES, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: 1. That the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered Section 6-8.1,which said section reads as follows: "Section 6-8.1. Minimum distance from dwellings, etc. 11It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, possess or maintain in the city limits of the City, any cows, bulls, steers, calves, horses, mules, sheep, goats or other such animals, within one hundred fifty feet (150') of any actual residence or habitation for human beings, or within one hundred fifty feet (150') of any church, school or hospital, other than the residence of the keeper, possessor or owner of, such animals." 2. That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas. 3. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance -or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. 4. This ordinance shall be cumulative of and in addition to all other ordinances of the City directed to the protection of the public health,.safety and welfare and shall never be construed to have repealed any provision of any such ordinance by implication or to have affected any acts or proceedings undertaken by virtue of any such other ordinance.
