ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
TWO DEDICATED BUT UNIMPROVED PORTIONS OF
BOWIE STREET LOCATED BETWEEN GOLIAD STREET
AND THE SANTA FE RAILROAD AND BETWEEN THE
SANTA FE RAILROAD AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC
RAILROAD.AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN:

WHEREAS, the Planning Department has requested that two
portions of Bowie Street located between Goliad Street and the
Santa Fe Railroad and between the Santa Fe Railroad and the
Southern Pacific Railroad, as more particularly described
herein, be vacated and abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, said request has been referred to the Planning
and Zoning Commission of The City of Beaumont for examination
and approval, and the same has been approved by said com-
mission; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is to the
best interest of the City of Beaumont and benefit to the public
that the hereinafter described portions of Bowie Street be
vacated and abandoned;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the following described portions of Bowie Street in the
City of Beaumont, Texas, be and the same are hereby vacated
and abandoned and that title to said portions of said vacated
and abandoned street shall revert to and become the property
of the person entitled thereto, as provided bylaw, said
portions being described as follows:
BEING all of that _portion of Bowie Street
lying east of Goliad Street and west of the
G & I Railroad (now Gulf, Colorado and Santa
Fe Railway Company), same also being all of
that portion of Bowie Street bounded on the
north by Lot Seven (7), Block Three (3) of
the Crockett Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, and bounded on the
south by Lot one (1), Block Thirty-four (34)
of the Cartwright Terrace Addition to the
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
and,
Beginning at a point being the intersection
of the east right-of-way line of the G.& I
RR (now Gulf, Colorado and Santa'Fe Railway
Company) and the north line of Lot 16, Block
34, Cartwright Terrace Addition, to the City
of .Beaumont;
Thence east along the north line of Lot 16,
Block 34, Cartwright Terrace Addition to the
City of Beaumont, to the northeast corner of -
said lot;
Thence continuing east and parallel with the
south line of the Noah Tevis Surveya distance
of 317.5 feet, more or less, to the west right-
of-way line of the S & E T RR (now Southern
Pacific Company);
Thence north 30 feet along the west right-of-
way line of the said-Southern.Pacific Company;
Thence west�30 feet from and parallel to the
south line of the Noah Tevis Survey a distance
of 464 feet, more or less, to the east right-
of-way line of the -said Gulf, Colorado and
Santa Fe Railway Company;
Thence south along said Gulf, Colorado and
Santa Fe Railway Company right-of-way to the
place of beginning; containing all of Bowie
Street, as dedicated,between the Gulf,
Colorado and Santa Fe Railway Company and the
Southern Pacific Company,.as above described.
