ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AM ABANDONING
THAT PORTION OF VAN BUREN AVENUE LOCATED EAST
OF THE EAST LINE OF GROVE STREET AND EX`T'ENDING
TO THE KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN RAILWAY RIGHT OF
WAY IN THE OAKWOOD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED
HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That portion of the street known as Van Buren Avenue, as hereinafter
described, in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned being described
as follows, to wit:
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Block F.
Oakwood Addition, said point lying on the east-
ward extension of the north right of way line of
Van Buren Avenue, 60 feet east of the southeast
corner of Lot 9, Block 15, Oakwood Addition, plat
of said Oakwood Addition being recorded in Volume
3, Page 156, Map Records of Jefferson County, Texas,
said beginning corner being the intersection of the
north right of way line of Van Buren Avenue, a 60
foot wide right of way and the east right of way line
of Grove Street, also a 60 foot wide right of way;
THENCE North 89059' East, along the north right of way
line of Van Buren Avenue and along the south line of
said Block F and the south line of said Block F extended
eastward, a distance of 298.11 ft. to corner in the
west right of way line of the Finis Spur Railroad right
of way, sanie:--being the right of way of the Texarkana
and Fort Smith Railway Company now known as the Kansas
City Southern Railway Company;
THENCE in a southwesterly direction along the west
right of way line of said spur and along the arc of a
curve, a distance of 64.12 feet to corner in the south
right of way line of Van Buren Avenue, the radius of said
curve being 701.99 feet;
THENCE South 89059' West, along the south right of way
line of Van Buren Avenue, a distance of 275:55 feet to
corner in the.southward_dxtension,of the east right
of way line of Grove Street;
THENCE North 00011West, along the said extension of
Grove Street, a distance of 60.00 feet to the place of
beginning, containing in area 0.395 of an acre of land,
more or less, said tract of land herein de•sdribed being--
that portion of Van Buren Avenue located between
the east right of way line of Grove Street and its
termination at the west right of way line of the
Finis Spur railroad right of way, same being the
right of way of the Texarkana and Fort Smith Railway
Company, now known as the Kansas City Southern
Railway Company;
